In search of the perfect leader

Issue no 193 - Paulo Coelho's Warrior Of Light:
"A reader sends me a questionnaire in which he presents the profile of three world leaders who lived in the same period of history, and asks if it is possible to choose the best one using the following data:
Candidate A was associated with witchdoctors and often consulted astrologists. He had two mistresses. His wife was a Lesbian. He smoked a lot. He drank eight to ten martinis a day.
Candidate B never managed to hold down a job because of his arrogance. He slept the whole morning. He used opium at school, and was always considered a bad student. He drank a glass of brandy every morning.
Candidate C was decorated a hero. A vegetarian, he did not smoke. His discipline was exemplary. He occasionally drank a beer. He stayed with the same woman during his moments of glory and defeat.
And what was the answer?"

this is very interesting :)

whatever the answers may be, the questionaire was perhaps written to comfort ambitious men of their own mischiefs and feebleness ;)

(the people listed below would probably share similar profiles with Hitler, but let's forget about him for a moment)

how about Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, J. Krishnamurti, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Kahlil Gibran?

these human beings shine a light in the darkest places of this earth - the human psyche.

try reading The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.

are they not the true leaders of themselves and of this world?

true leaders lead their own lives. and through leading their own lives, they liberate themselves and others.

the world we have now is of our own making.

when we celebrate ambition, power, glamor - then competitions, inequality, envy, mistrust, poverty, and wars becomes our shared reality.

if we choose to stop for a moment to examine our joys and sorrows, we will notice how connected we all are with each other.

when we pay attention and look at ourselves without running away to some ideals, then, and only then, will we find freedom and peace in our heart, and begin to see the significance of this life in every moment.

i think this is what Paulo's blog post was really about.
