Twitter - Public Timeline

A global community (since March 2006) of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing?
It's Twitter, which essentially turns the one-to-one channels of instant messaging and phone-based SMS text messaging into broadcast media.
The 140 characters messages lean toward pithy, haiku-like utterances, at the same time creating a Social Sixth Sense.
